Day 9: Terry Angri

Ephesians 2:4-7
"BUT GOD, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have been saved-and raised up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

Hello Grace Family!
This year our family experienced a milestone as our daughter, Amy, turned 40-years old. There are some reading this who have known her most of her life, and others who are new to Grace Chapel who don’t know her at all and may not realize why this is something that we’re boasting in the Lord about.

She was born with a genetic condition called Angelman’s Syndrome also known as “Happy Puppet Syndrome.” This diagnosis did not come until she was nine years old when the specific genetic test for this condition became available. This condition would ultimately leave Amy unable to care for herself and completely reliant on us for the rest of her life.

When she was 18 months old, my marriage ended and I began the journey as a single mom of raising a child who is fully dependent with multiple needs. I was not a believer at the time; I actually was skeptical that God even existed.

Then the Lord brought Dave (my now husband) in to my life and used him in a great way.  Dave, who was also a new believer at the time, lead me to Christ when Amy was 2 years old. God has used Amy to clearly deepen our relationship with Him. He has done this by bringing us to our knees, leaning on Him through some very difficult times over the years.  More importantly though, is how God has used Amy to shower us with incredible blessings through her sweet spirit!

"My prayer has always been for me to never think of Amy as a burden but rather a blessing. God has been exceedingly faithful in doing this for us. Through the Holy Spirit we have the assurance that she belongs to Him, and that someday she will be together with us, without sickness or imperfection."
